RIGHT FUCKING ON! This is what having a spine looks like Bari, in case you were wondering (but I’d bet you weren’t). You are exactly why the fourth estate is officially dead, bought and paid for by the oligarchs. Do you imagine you have curried favor, maybe gained admittance to the holy of Holies, secured your seat at the table? You have not…what you have done is signaled to the misogynist elite that you will surrender before attack, you have told these woman hating power brokers that you are a volunteer. Have fun at the bbq when they roast you 🤬
That little smirky smile shows regime an acceptable spineless face of ambition soaked in brainlessness with the propaganda instincts of a Pravda apparatchik. Let her read about Nikolay Ivanovich Yezhov if want to know how your 'mentors' may eventually reward you.
to a T. Agree 100% Hoping someone wakes up and fires her. Saw the video Canada allowed. Those men have a bullseye on their back and risked their lives. We need to keep exposing the cruelty of this administration esp Miller.
I love the spine that each writer in your organization uses as well as the unbending understanding of right and wrong. You don't miss an opportunity to help people like Weiss get a clue to how to apply their position to bring truth (and in this case important journalism) to light. What a waste some cowards are.
Awesome letter! I hope she reads it. Please let us know if anyone responds.
I would say I don’t think someone in her position would check their own mail but she’s a very controlling person so I’m sure she does check her own mail. That and the fact that someone might see her shady behavior if they saw her mail and she needs to control that narrative, too.
In the end, she is a willing participant to do the work of what is, I’m sure, getting to be a big job for the FCC who is also trying to field all the objections to violations of their charter.
If the news executive misses it then FCC will catch it. So many layers.
Oddly, several nights ago - just before this current 60 Minutes scandal broke- I rewatched the documentary-style movie THE INSIDER.
Al Pacino stars as Lowell Bergman, a 60 Minutes producer involved in an ensemble cast for the film. Key supporting roles include Russell Crowe as whistleblower Dr. Jeffrey Wigand, Christopher Plummer as journalist Mike Wallace.
The film received seven Academy Award nominations. “After seeking the expertise of former "Big Tobacco" executive Jeffrey Wigand (Russell Crowe), seasoned TV producer Lowell Bergman (Al Pacino) suspects a story lies behind Wigand's reluctance to speak. As Bergman persuades Wigand to share his knowledge of industry secrets, the two must contend with the courts and the corporations that stand between them and exposing the truth. All the while, Wigand must struggle to maintain his family life amidst lawsuits and death threats.”
This is a very similar quagmire in which 60 Minutes is again being pressured, this time by the US GOVERNMENT, ie the POTUS, to pull the story. Apparently speaking TRUTH to power is NOT permissible in Trumplandia, where corporate power reigns supreme, particularly when the truth runs counter to his/their corrupt agenda.
But it IS actually against the law, and once again, republicans are snoozing. To what end? What we’re currently witnessing across the board is not only blatant overreach, it’s shocking, reprehensible, illegal and extremely dangerous.
“Constitutional Limits & Challenges: “First Amendment: Broadcasters, like all media, have First Amendment rights, meaning the government can't censor content or punish speech based on viewpoint, as argued in lawsuits against Trump's actions.
“FCC's Role: The FCC cannot generally dictate programming content; its rules focus on technical issues and ensuring stations serve the "public interest," not political preferences. “Independent Agencies: Agencies like the FCC are meant to be independent, though presidents have sought to bring them under more direct control.
“In Summary: While Trump can't issue direct orders on content, his administration has used regulatory avenues, like the FCC and Pentagon access, to challenge unfavorable news coverage, leading to legal battles over press freedom.” AI generated. (Scroll back 50 year to the Nixon Watergate scandal and the WH officials who aided and abetted the WH response, then covered up for Nixon. They eventually went to prison.) Search - The Insider Movie for details.”
In other words, Trump is threatening institutions across the board, and the press is front and center on his radar screen.
And Roy Cohn must be celebrating from the fiery pits of hell.
What Cohn taught DJT -
“The Six Dark Lessons Roy Cohn Taught Trump (That He Still Uses Today)”

“4. Manipulate the media ruthlessly. Cohn was a master at planting stories, cultivating journalists, and creating controversy to serve his ends. He understood that perception trumped reality, that bold claims often went unchallenged, and that most people would remember the accusation but not the retraction. Trump elevated this approach to an art form, calling reporters using pseudonyms like “John Barron” to plant favorable stories about himself, staging pseudo-events to attract coverage, and later, using Twitter to bypass media filters entirely and inject his unfiltered messages directly into the public consciousness.”
I thoroughly agree with the intent of this letter which is sure to fall on the deafest of ears. Because the story was like sperm, having a mind of its own and finding a likely audience using any means available, and because in all probability the cancelation of the story was ass-kissing to you-know-who and perhaps a way of building audience, I say that if it’s ever aired we should boycott it just to spite Weiss and her enablers. Find another way to see this and its confirmation of the abhorrent activities at CECOT. And use it to call attention to the world just how bad our own leadership is behaving in its fascistic way to ruin our government and country for decades to come.

Done with CBS.

All I can say is that the MAGA women are certainly very obedient.
Killing the story amplified it.
Excellent!! Thanks for slapping Weiss in the face with reality from the people!!
BRAVO! Well done, Rook!

What she accomplished was me canceling Paramount+, and citing lack of journalistic integrity as the reason why. I hope millions join me.
