Talk about going down in a blaze of glory. Let us hope that there are Americans willing to fight for their countries freedom like Mr. Skobov.

I’m sure there are; I just commented on another post that I am 77, I love my country & would die for it to ensure my 5 granddaughters & my great-granddaughter could grow up in a free country with the same values intact from my growing up.

Isn't it our responsibility now to repost this story and tell it everywhere we can….?

A heart-breaking contrast with the speedy surrenders of an increasing number of giant, wealthy US institutions: starting with Amazon and Meta, and now more shockingly, Columbia University and actual “white shoe” law firms. Just rolling over and licking the hand of the cruel and unpredictable master. And for them, it’s not their lives which are at stake, or even their livelihoods, as they’re already unimaginably wealthy, and could all afford to stand up and fight, and merely come out a bit LESS wealthy.

“The entire Russian uniqueness comes down to tolerating violence from the stronger and not limiting oneself in violence against the weaker. This is Nazism.”

I would dispute the uniqueness. See any tribe or nation including the USA except for certain periods in Tibet and Bhutan.

We must also credit Russia for musicians, artists, physicists, engineers, inventiveness, resistance, courage, endurance, religious fervor, and athletes.

Russian uniqueness is not solely about its repressive political system but the article covered a political trial and a political speech. It was focused on those factors alone. It was incredibly brave of Skobov to sacrifice himself by sending a message to the rest of the world through his final, public speech. He will suffer tremendously as a result. Most people don't have that amount of courage. It was remarkable and desperately sad.

“Long live Aleksandr Skobov!”

Skobov is a man who will NOT be defeated by the fascist murderer, Putin!

The entire Free World had better wake up!

Pax Americana is over!

Fascism is on the march again!

Europe and Canada get ready to defend freedom!

America is dysfunctional!

Chills! Let's all find our way to make a statement. I love Closer to the Edge, but I follow many others too. As a Dem, I have been following Adam Kinzinger and his Team Country First

https://www.country1st.com/ and the Indivisible organization in hopes of finding my way to take my action.

Reflecting further, why don’t we see this courage and sacrifice in the members

in the members of the Republican members of Congress. Do we no longer have the likes of Nathan Hale?

Are we that far behind this level of depravity?

Send this to every congressman and lobbyist married to a Russian honeypot. It's amazing how easily they have infiltrated our country.

This is a profile in courage.

This act of defiance is every bit as courageous as stirring down the tank in Tiananmen Square. His name and his words need to be broadcast as widely as possible.

Another amazing piece of writing. I am so moved by your words and call to action for this incredibly brave man. We must amplify his speech and take the warning very seriously. We will stand up and shout to the rooftops.
