Stay strong and tell us, and the world, every illegal, every inhumane, every barbaric thing the Trump supporters voted for and which we all will now have to endure. This is on them and they must own it. Don't give them a pass for anything. These horrors are brought to us compliments of those who voted for Trump or who didn't vote at all.

Why the HELL CAN NO ONE SAY NO TO HIM?? These sycophants are a bunch of sadists! Someone needs to sue him for this! Can we get some big law firm to file a class-action suit? This is beyond barbaric!

People who meet him describe his charm and people skills. He entertains well-- has spent 80 years working on getting people to like him. Or seem to, because he's fundamentally unlikable : greedy and self-centered.

He is a master at visual cons, and TV / video is the perfect medium to sucker people. Any publicity is what he thrives on.

Well, if they see him riidicule & call people names, they shouldn't be taken in by his "charm". They'd know what a sleaze-bucket he is, & that he only is nice to them because he wants something from them.

Doesn't seem to bother them. They voted for him anyway and clap again and again.

A lot of of us have a frustrated "inner six-year-old" who doesn't want to share, and doesn't want to listen to Mommy, or teacher; and he appeals to that. Isn't it fun to break rules and get away with it? And in front of everyone! Cue applause! Souvenirs available!

It's pretty primal. Intellectual reasoning, or sacrificial love, will not register : require too much uncomfortable movement of inner furniture.

Millenarianism or prosperity gospel are much more comfortable! Trump plays right along with those. Though he cannot hear someone (like a female bishop!) ask for compassion for refugee children, or the poor. (Her brand blipped briefly, but faded fast.)

As entertainment:

Cue John the Baptist (or Jeremiah, or any blooded prophet): "Hey folks, look where you're going! Ain't working -- turn around and take another path!" (loose translation of "repent " 😉)

Television con-man update: "Change the chanel! -- I'm a king: don't you wish you were me?"

- Or the Herod version: put the crazy dude in prison, but go listen to him sometimes: your marriage irregularities are none of his business, but his ranting is amusing when he's safely locked up!

-- So: cut his head off for vanity (or because you have the hots for your wife's daughter ?)

but hey, it got you in with the Romans - Pilate even asked you to play golf!

It's entertainment! It sells! Don't forget the souvenirs: gold-plated! Since - if God created man in his own image, why shouldn't you?

😉

I am having a hard time with this one. Since I was a young child, it has been taught to me what Hitler and the fascists did to Germany and the world. How people were coerced, co-opted and conned into believing all of their problems were the fault of one segment of their society. How they built camps for the express purpose of killing those people. And in large part, until the world woke up, they were successful. Now history seems to be repeating itself in America. A xenophobic, racist, mental deficient leader, a backup band full of hate for anybody they perceive to be less than or not good enough or not republican or not white enough or not rich enough or not slavishly adoring enough. Those are the people they're building concentration camps for. Maga people are actually for people being killed and eaten by alligators, snakes, spiders, storms and whatever else is lurking around down there. And now other states are chiming in with their own locations for similar camps to be built. Really. Where in their Christian, or any, teaching does it say this stuff is OK? I've said it before and I'm saying it again. There is going to be a reckoning. You will be judged. And all of you who are enjoying this, laughing and dancing, sucking up all attention you can get... You will all be found wanting.

I hope Donald Trump realizes he just built his own prison. When we finally call him to justice, this is where he should spend the rest of his life. Ron DeSantis too.

What a depraved, cruel regime we have. Mimicking with joy a Third Reich in the US. Mocking immigrants running away and being chewed up by alligators. Selling merchandise to celebrate it! Merchandise about a concentration camp! What rabid, hateful, racist sickness rots the minds of the officials of this regime. Appalling does not do this justice. I am so sorry that human beings will be dumped here into cages. Cages!

The more I read about this, the more I feel slightly less revolted by our previous regime. Those are the guys who brought, and entrenched the system of apartheid. This time it's because in those days here in South Africa, there was a very thin veneer of legality . Most of our horror was actually passed into law in our Parliament. It was debated and a good deal of time the only real part of the opposition in that sham Parliament was a lone voice of one Helen Suzman. She never let up. But she could not have stopped the truth of what went on outside in our similar system to your Auschwitz. They packed real human beings who happened to be black, with none of their possessions into what were called Bantustans and dumped them there. Each Bantustan was determined by 2 things: the people in each one came from their "ethnic group". The other was that the land was chosen because there was no land on which anything could be grown for food. Or useful for anything else. There was effectively no healthcare. And that was another set of lies . The infant mortality rates, and maternal morbidity rates were airbrushed out of the stats. So were the signs of systemic malnutrition. There was an irony which played out in our Truth and Reconciliation Commission put in place after the first democratic election in 1994 by the African National Congress. That irony was that the director general of the Department of Health from the previous regime was "asked" to explain to the Commission among other things, how the stats were fiddled. It was a moral swamp. And why I think that yours is worse than ours is because you have no effective opposition. Digging this out of another swamp -- censorship -- which tried to keep this out of the press. It did not succeed and was documented. I don't think Trump would care about being likened our revolting lot. He is not bothered, it would seem, to have his stuff done in the glare of the media. This happens to me that I feel more loathing for your lot than ours. It is too easy to chart the descent into hell of these acts of both lots with the rise and behaviour of Nazis. We did have an active opposition but it went on. Good luck. Seems like you need it.

I don't understand why NATO or the UN doesn't come to stop this. There were no laws passed to legalize any of the horror going on in the so called US. Everything is being done to these people at the whim of one man (not really; there's a whole cabal behind him). Why doesn't the International Criminal Court at least speak up to condemn what's happening. It wouldn't do any good, but at least it would bring attention of the world to the situations. The ICC has condemned some of Israel's actions in Gaza, why don't they condemn actions in the US. I don't understand.
