An excellent article, mutual aid is always worth highlighting.

Thank you for this! I needed a bit of love today. It is important to know there are good people and great organizations still out there warding off despair.

Minneapolis seems like the best community that America has developed. No wonder Trumpf and the Necropublicans are constantly as war with it. It's good, supportive, strong and decent... everything they despise.

Wonderful, heartwarming story. There truly are kind, caring, loving, compassionate people everywhere. And this is an important reminder and perfect example there are more of us than there are of the hateful, inhumane ones.

What a wonderful blueprint for all communities. Helping people and their pets in need, no questions asked, is one of the quickest, most simplistic ways to fight anger, violence, and loneliness. Yes. There will always be a minority who take advantage of a good thing, but that's an acceptable trade-off. These past ten years saw an alarming growth of the "me-mentality." American society was losing one of its historically commendable characteristics: the village model - which, surprise/surprise originated among diverse, immigrant communities - when differences produced valuable contributions and a reciprocal way of life. The more I learn about the people of Minneapolis, the more I envy them.

Wow, we should all work on expanding their reach. The whole country could use some of that love! To my way of thinking, it's the only cure for today's problems. It takes a village ...
