So tragic; don’t give trump all of blame; the entire republican party has serious dry rot to its heart. Thousands of tons of food destroyed. Sadly, the white nationalists “Christians” have hardened their hearts to the suffering of others. Not the Christianity that I learned.

My God what have we become giving Trump this power over life and death!

All the men and women who work in the facilities that do these things to people. Who raised them? What happened to them, that they have no compassion or ethics? What, as a society, should we do with them? For they can not be trusted to be our neighbors.

You bring up an excellent point. They are our neighbors and for some they are also family. How can we relate to them on a daily basis! How can we accept the excuse of "We have to have a job and we're just doing our jobs." ?

The point is, if they were doing their jobs, Marie wouldn't have died.

I fear their "job descriptions" have been changed from what they were under other administrations. Now there are quota deadlines and they have free reign on how they make that daily quota.

No excuse. I'd work anywhere else.

My statement was not offered as an excuse. There is no excuse for what is being done by this government.

I didn't think you were offering an excuse; the people keeping those jobs and using any means to meet their quotas are trying to excuse their heinous behavior.

I'm sorry I diidn't make that clear.

What a powerful and tragic story. It saddens me and makes me angry too, for all the suffering that Trump’s administration has caused. They are all serial murderers as I see it. I used to be proud of our Country. We used to help, lead, Care. Now all I feel is shame. We have to keep raising our voices against their despicable behavior. Someday there will be a reckoning coming to them and their empty souls. I hope it's soon.

I have never used the word unconscionable so much in my life. Nor used the word catastrophic so much. And never sworn so damned much! Is this how it feels right before a revolution??

I’m appalled. The facts that there’s so much ignorance and stupidity by too many people is staggering.

So sad and heart wrenching. Shame on those in power that don't care for basic human dignity, shame.

We like to think humanity evolves toward good ideals. I feel the longer we exist, the more we degenerate. Most times the veneer of civilization keeps our baser instincts in check. Sometimes, however, the evil finds a crack and breaks through. The crack has been widening rapidly in the last six months since the evil was elected. I have great sadness for the innocent victims.
