Why do people assume that every Palestinian is a supporter of hamas? I'm sure most Palestinians couldn't give a fuck at the moment. They just want to live. In peace. With food in their bellies. The ability to send their children to school. Oh, and not get blown to bits. My son believes the evil rhetoric put out by the tangerine turnip and his 'blue rinse haired' dick swallower mate. We are Australian, and yet the politics of an unhinged tangerine turnip is affecting my life. I can't talk to my son anymore. It's like talking to a brick wall. He wasn't raised like this. I feel DESPAIR. But thats nothing to what the average Palestinian mum must be feeling.
I’m sorry and I understand how you feel. I am Australian too and also have family members who range between neo-nazi sympathiser, brain-washed tRumpist Sky News consumer and rabbit-holed conspiracy theorist. It causes me anxiety but you’re so right, it’s so incomparable to the immense suffering endured by Palestinian people every day. I hate that our weak politicians are such apologists for the despicable, murderous Israeli government.
Choices. Upward of 70%, 80% support or supported Hamas, an Iranian terrorist group committed to the destruction of Israel, who are a constant threat and antagonizer. Since the most horrific acts upon innocent civilians on Oct 7 people now suffer on the side of Hamas. Innocent and not so innocent. This hatred can never be fixed. Let's never forget that hatred caused this. No one can fix it unless people heal the hate in their own hearts. That's a good start.
I had to stop reading this article many times, because I could not see the words through my tears!
The world sat silent before while 1.2 million Armenians were exterminated by the Turks, and did nothing. The Armenian Genocide was one of the most compelling human rights crises of World War I, helping to inspire Adolf Hitler three decades later to carry out the atrocities of World War II. Hitler’s quote “who remembers the Armenian genocide” is still relevant today because the forces of denial and revisionism are still striving to expunge from history the record of this enormous crime against humanity – the first modern genocide of the 20th century.
It is only through learning and remembering past atrocities that we are able to work toward their prevention and become a more humane society. I’m afraid, silence and denial will keep future generations ignorant of this genocide too, if it can’t be stopped. It seems we’ve learned very little. 💔
WOW! If any other country in the World did what Isreal is doing right now to those poor Palestinians, and totally getting away with it, it would not be accepted!! One should think back to the 1948 "agreement" establishing the state of Israel, and how much territory Israel now "owns"!!
The photo has no caption. So you lost me on credibility. Regarding the closing statement: "if the world lets Israel choke Gaza dry, if the collective punishment of an entire population is accepted as a bargaining tactic, then humanity has crossed a line it can’t come back from." Humanity? Can you please share what type of humanity Hamas displayed on October 7? Hamas holds its own people in Gaza complicit in its crimes by propaganda and by killing anyone who questions their authority. Other than using living and dead Israeli hostages as bargaining tactics, what has Hamas offered the people of Gaza, who put them in charge, as a way out of their decades-old death cult?
Age 6, experiencing malnutrition, receives treatment after being evacuated from the northern Gaza Strip to the IMC field hospital in Rafah, Gaza, March 24, 2024
The photo may be a year old, but the story remains the same. We'd use a newer photo, but there a very few photographers on the ground.
Enough of the false equivalence. Of course Hamas's killing and taking hostages was heinous. For that matter, Hamas is heinous. But does that justify killing 45,000+ people? The right word for that is genocide, especially when it is being accomplished by every possible horror - bombing, starvation, denial of aid.
That’s a very simplistic perspective of a complicated situation. Israeli militants have been chipping away at the West Bank for many decades. The citizens of Gaza deserve to live. This is genocide. Netanyahu owes a big thanks to Hamas for giving him the excuse to massacre tens of thousands of people. Disgusting!
Unspeakable. So thank you for speaking.

Israel is learning from Trump and what he's doing in Ukraine

It's just too much heartache, so many innocents suffering.

Are we "credible" again?
It sounds to me like you don't care if they all starve to death.
