Nick Stern, a British news photographer, was also shot and had to undergo emergency surgery. He is now recovering at Long Beach Memorial Medical Centre after having a bullet removed from his thigh. Hopefully the Australian journalist received no lasting physical injury, poor lady. I wish both of them would sue the felon squatting in the White House for unnecessarily endangering them by accelerating the situation with his provocative actions.

Please redirect your anger at a bit more targeted audience, those who didn’t vote, or God forbid, voted in this nightmare that we are all living. I’ve never missed an election since the day I became eligible to vote, voted against this idiot 3x, am attending protests on the regular, calling congressmen and senators & even left Kristi Noeme a message on her voicemail to let her know what a vile hypocrite she is, and am sharing my opinions rather than pretending all will be ok if we bury our heads in the sand—the resources available to me. We are a small nation (under 30 million) in a huge land mass, almost the same in size, as America. We have compulsory voting, and the last federal election in May of this year, over 90% of voters participated. My personal belief is that all voting, in all countries, should be compulsory. Pipe dream I know….. America has a massive population and I wonder what the difference would be right now, if all who were eligible voted. Would the tangerine turnip have gotten a big kick up the arse as he deserves? We'll never know now. Very recently, I heard 2 blokes talking about the turnip, and they then remarked on ‘all the dumb septics’. I was surprised as I hadn't heard an American referred to as a septic for decades. This is the anger that is out there.

I loved this while feeling outraged. I saw it on TV here in Johannesburg. I am a journalist and have been one for the past 40 years. I can't count how many colleagues have gone through this and worse. It was of course at its worst through the apartheid years. Holding the drive to make those who acted like hitler's stormtroopers to account and those who gave them their orders, was a sure fire way of getting into severe trouble. Those of us who worked with that understanding were constantly faced with those threats. I'm white. My black colleagues bore the brunt of this. From shots fired at them, to detentions in which they were tortured, to an infinite array of harm aimed at them for telling the truth. I think that piece you have written is the closest I have ever seen that should have been expressed here but wasn't. And thank you .

Over 140M voted. I don’t know how many are over voting age. Can never imagine why ANYONE would give up their right to vote.
