At 77, it's not fear I'm experiencing. It's incandescent rage! I've marched for peace in the past. But I'm not feeling peaceful these days!

I have seven years on you and I feel your rage. I know how hard it is to be peaceful when inside I am boiling. Keep in mind that Trump is desperate for an excuse to sic our own military on us. We have to avoid that at all costs. Right now we are pitted against ICE and the Border Patrol. Our National Guard and our armed military are not our enemies. They're our daughters and sons, part of our families. Let's do our best to keep them that way. We must remain peaceful.

I was just telling that to a friend in Portland how lor Guards are made up of our own local citizens. I'm not angry at them. I'm angry at the Littlest MoFo and all his sycophants and enablers!

Jesus says we can get angry but to not sin while doing so. Can't reach out and slap them, doggone it! No fear here either! Hold on to hope and have faith Jesus will return to wipe out the wicked and reign 1k years. If it wasn't for Jesus there'd be no real love!

Make an effige and take yer wrath out on IT.

Pumpkins are an apt substitute for someone I can think of - and perfectly ok to burn, baby burn…..

PRO (den mom) TIP:

Soak a roll of TP in kerosene.

Put it in yer pumpkin.

Leave ‘lid’ OFF.

Place pumpkin in a safe place where it can be enjoyed but NOT light other things on fire.

Light it up and enjoy about 45 minutes of big fat flame towering up & out of pumpkin top.

It’s a crowd pleaser ; )

Wonderful idea. The Tangerine Twatwaffle (Thanks to another writer for that.)is just waiting for a chance to invoke the Insurrection Act. We do not want that!

No longer a Christian. My spiritual life is much bigger than the narrrow mindedness enshrined in the Christian Bible. Particularly the old testament.

Quit going to churches years ago because truth isn't always told. It's all about the love of God and the blood of Christ. God is concerned about what's in our hearts. Jesus = love

Me either you sometimes feel like .. “ what good is marching and protesting when EVERYDAY it seems to be a win in trumps direction whether it be the Supreme Court or Congress giving him all trump and his regime do yet another corrupt egregious law breaking thing and he just keeps going with nothing stopping him. Where does it go from here. It doesn’t feel like “up”. Whenever that does happen at 65yesrs old already I may now live to see it.

Though tears are running down my face, I need to say this is so spot on. I think many my age (71) are feeling so much more than those younger. We have lived through so much history and to see what is happening is heart breaking and unacceptable.

Thank you for your words.

All true but consider the years of effort by oligarchs and the GOP. They’ve been attacking social programs since passage in 1935 of Social Security, Worker’s Comp, Aid to Dependent Children and the rest. Medicare, Medicaid, the ACA, the EPA, etc. added to their rage against those “taking” their tax money. With the shutdown the battle is joined. The Dems are fighting to preserve health insurance benefits from cuts and cost increases. Trump is doubling down halting SNAP benefits and other “Democrat” programs. Big donors insist the GOP sustain cuts to Medicaid and ACA. The Democrats must not cave! This is a frontal assault on social programs by GOP money, think tanks, the media, and interest groups. Stakes extremely high and outcome revealing.

There's a reference to this being 2025 in the Year of Our Lord. I'm not religious, but "Our Lord" doesn't seem to be relevant these days.

Wrapped “in sequins, slogans, and fireworks” is only part of it. Many of his ghouls are carrying bibles as part of the Project 2025 claque, and if you read much of that, you will see how it is partly a drive for theocracy; it is christofascism.

It’s also true to say that it is HIS fear and loathing that got you there. Fear of being imprisoned for his crimes. Loathing of everyone and everything that he is not.

Sneaking up on 80 and so grateful for your words because I have none. All I have is rage and grief for how close the Magats have pushed us to the edge of the abyss. I was a freshman in college when JFK was murdered, and it wasn’t long after that that I marched in my first protest. And here we are yet again.

I’m 78 and I pray I live long enough to see the orange idiot, or my new name, liar ‘n cheat, out of office along with his inept, unqualified regime. Then it’ll be up to my grandchildren to repair the damage & ensure something like this never happens again by first getting money, dark or otherwise, out of our politics.

“It was not an overthrow; it was a surrender” . Perfect. Congress and Judiciary have surrendered and abetted the invader before the first shot. Honorable military and protesters are our last hope - before they are imprisoned or worse.

“A Parasite with a Podium” is the best description of our feared and loathsome leader that I have come across. We fear and loathe the direction the country appears to have been heading. We loathe the individual more than we fear him. Hopefully his overreach (e.g., the desecration of the East Wing and the scatalogical airplane flight) has reached a point where those who have not been paying attention will finally wake up before the damage he has wrought has become irreversible.
