We had a smaller local protest in our county seat of Inverness Florida on April 5. We were hoping for 200 people and 300 people showed up! I was there. Tomorrow, April 19's gathering will be in Crystal River, the only other city in Citrus County. 58.7% of the 113,738 registered voters in Citrus County Florida are Republicans and 71.4% voted for 47 in the 2024 POTUS election.) I will be in Crystal River tomorrow!

Yesterday, April 19, we mustered 320 people in Crystal River vs just a handful of MAGA counter-protesters who didn't stay very long. Maybe some of those MAGA's have "woken" up? This turnout on an Easter weekend was awesome as many people were away AND the snowbirds have already begun moving back north. Our local newspaper also sent a reporter/photographer to cover our event. The feedback from the passing cars was mostly positive with some inevitable one-fingered salutes from the MAGA Yahoos.

Attending 2events with my protest buddy!

Happening at different times also so that’s even better. Yes it requires travel but democracy is worth it, don’t ya think?

I feel like the information available for 04/05 protests was more accessible: I was easily able to access many local protests: This time I am going to have to travel at least 2 hrs one way, which I will do ,I just feel it’s not as organized .

We are getting closer and closer to potential implementation of the Insurrection Act. Word of mouth is safer until things get closer to the time of the protests.

Nothing in Las Cruces NM tomorrow

So I will have to make a sign for my house/yard as with my menagerie of animals I cannot get to the closest protest 50+ miles away.

So poster board will have to do for us in Las Cruces.

Hi from Albuquerque! As with April 5, we're under freeze warning and wintry mix conditions, but we'll still be out on the Plaza! (Remind me who they said could control the weather? I could've sworn I requested sunny with Spring breezes this time lol)

If he does invoke the Insurrection Act we should start meeting to have prayer vigils. Would he send out police to shoot us as we pray?

Prayers are important but aren't they silent? Silence is what a dictator wants. Pray if you feel you need to, but be doing "good trouble" peacefully while you pray. My mother use to tell me God helps those who help themselves.
