A few points - 1. do not wear earrings. 2. tie your hair up and wear it under a close fitting hat. 3. wear clothes in which you can be dragged. 4. your phone is a cop. Turn off your GPS before you go. Use Whatsapp for communication. 5. never go alone or without a plan. Look at the maps. Plan your escape routes. Have them scoped by your outside posse as well as by yourself, and be ready to change plans. 6. Have bail available. 7. People, please be advised by this person who did sit ins and marches in the 60's and 70's. This time it's like Selma. You will be beaten, teargassed, thrown to the ground, dragged, hosed, and put in places without communication. Your life is in peril. Be certain you have attorneys, a ready group of friends to support you when it comes down. And don't do this if you have family or a job.
PS - Because this is such a great Old School set of suggestions, I want to share (hope its allowed) a link to a conversation about how Old School resistance movements operated and how those strategies may inform and/or inspire in today’s context.
The Podcast is called Neon Liberalism and the episode is “Winning in a Rigged Game”
It’s amazeballs, slightly academic and very pertinent. 50 min listen.
This is a great refresher for those of us who are a long time away from our activist days and a great primer for those who are new to activism - all of us who are motivated by the urgency of the present billionaire-oligarch manufactured crisis designed to buffalo us into a false sense of futility.
This is a brilliant set of ideas that can and SHOULD be already being implemented NOW.
IM going to pass it on in my (very shallow reach) socials and HOPW?EXPECT all other subscribers to do same - urging the other channels we follow to take notice and act on this or other plans VERY much LIKE this ASAP - and for WEEKS moving forward.
Just posted this to my local Indivisible group. I’m all in on rallies and sidewalk protests, but now it’s time to step it up.
YES! Sit-ins are one of the great protest tools taught by the Civil Rights Movement that we need to study, teach, and emulate. Thanks for this!
I hope some of the big resistance organizations coalesce into an umbrella org that will do some training as the resistance turns into a Mobilization.

How about 400,000 people sitting quietly in a human ring around the White House?

Oooohhh this is so good!🔥🔥🔥
This needs to be posted everywhere as good guidance for us not knowing how to make the most impact! I tried restacking but keep getting an error.

Whats the antidote to “act fast & break things"?
Act Fast and STALL Things!
Brilliant ideas! I want to be part of one in Canada.
Great ideas!
We dare not give in. We dare not go back to the bad old days of segregation.
Wow incredible ideas for all of us!
An extremely valuable message. Thanks for all you folks do! The time has come to step up!
