Use it now! Lock. Her. Up!

When we live in a time when our President is a rapist, pedophile and 34 count convicted felon, something like inherent contempt isn't even a thought.

You’re right when it comes to Trump; but it will be effective with AG Bondi, having her face the consequence of obedience to Trump instead of honoring her oath of office to our Constitution. I would place a copy of our Constitution, Bill of Rights, and perhaps, a history of the United States of America on that table, no pillow on the chair, and a loud ticking clock on the wall.

Especially the Declaration of Independence!

Need to be made a front and center thought.

maybe. his minions don’t have immunity, though, so it may work on them.

Why didnt the Jan 6th Committee use this tool on their fellow Congressional peers who refused to honor subpoenas? This isnt a rhetorical question; Im seriously asking.

But maybe it should be.🤔

Your previous cuck presidents weren’t any better than Trump, your cuck press just covered it up , in your cuck country, full of braindead cucks. World’s first Cuckistockracy.

Seems like you have a lot of experience with "cucks"..

Go hop on Hussein. He's been dead quite a while, which should add to the pleasure.

Yes! I've been telling my friends from the very beginning of this mess that even though we might not be able to prosecute tRump for his unlawful actions, we can hold any one of his cabinet members and other enablers in contempt. Bondi would be first on the list. Sending them down to one of the "containment centers" would be a great idea. Nice comfy place for a "timeout".

I'd love to see both bondi and noem behind bars. Ya know, those same bars that ICE barbie posed in front of lo these many months ago.

Raven's avatar

Yes so would I. Her flagrant glorification of cruelty and total disregard for the pain she is repeatedly causing others is something out of a horror movie. One I would never have paid to watch and now am forced to witness… The Christian god they all claim to worship should have smacked them on the sides of their ignorant heads with a bolt of lightening by now….. and hopefully will, sooner than later.

Thank you Joel for your reply to my comment. The best most of can do is be a witness to this badly produced flick. And remain kind :)

Bondi is the perfect case for inherent contempt with custody. She has consistently refused to answer questions posed by oversight committees.

Demonstrating her contempt in no uncertain terms, even leaving a hearing before it’s conclusion for a made up reason. The perfect person of whom to make an example.

Congressman Al Green, who was drug up the aisle by Bonfi's security thugs, should return the favor.

Do it.

As if anyone with any power in Congress has a spine and would even think of upsetting the status quo. They have donors/corporations/industries to think of... who give to (bribe) both sides to keep them in line and obedient to their capitalist masters. Taking the route of imposing a fine is even crossing the obedience line, even though it's purely symbolic and just a tiny amount anyway (tiny to multimillionaires at least). We've strayed too far from truly holding politicians accountable to ever claw that back.

Excellent underscore! Thanks for stating what should be the obvious.

And along those lines, I do recall that when Nixon’s staff covered-up, co-conspired, crafted, implemented a cover-up, then “handled” the watergate break-up, they were cordially invited to sit down and shut TF up.

Then, “several high-ranking Nixon staffers, including H.R. Haldeman, John Ehrlichman, and John Mitchell, were indicted by a federal grand jury in March 1974 for their roles in covering up the Watergate scandal, leading to their convictions and prison time, while many others faced charges, ultimately contributing to President Nixon's resignation.”

So BONDI and all the high-ranking members of deranged Donny’s administration might want to rethink their strategy.

“FEDERAL GRAND JUR Y INDICTS 7 NIXON AIDES ON CHARGES OF CONSPIRACY ON WATERGATE; HALDEMAN, EHRLICHMAN, MITCHELL ON LIST”

Instead of “custody”, call it “Congressional-Time-Out”. The word custody does imply (in our vernacular), jail or apprehension via civil law. I personally don’t mind “custody”, but it leaves a lot of room to redefine what is accurately described here: Congress doing legit Congress stuff.

Letting corporate media have the vast linguistic space to scream, “Dems Threaten Custody for Bondi Without Legal Process” or “Democrats Weaponize The Law With Threaten to Illegally Apprehend Bondi” or “Usurping Executive Authority, Dems Attempt to Unconstitutionally Arrest Bondi”

I’d love to see Pam in Time-Out. No phone, no make-up, no computer, no TV. Give her a copy of the Bill of Rights and let her stew.

Thank you for this explanation, and the history!

Wow, thank you for this info. I assumed that since Bondi was breaking a federal law and the DOJ would never arrest her that the law had no power.

I read that even MAGAs dislike Bondi among all Trump Regime Cabinet figures. Around 70% of MAGAs disapprove of her.

To exact inherent contempt you need to have a majority in the Senate. We do not. Which underscores the need to vote to change the makeup of that body.

Joel Applegate's avatar

I didn't know that about inherent contempt. We should have been using it long ago. But the Democrats are too cowardly to use what's in their toolkit. I can't wait for this regime to be universally shamed. By the way, thank you for working on a holiday. You have a wonderful, eloquent voice.

Bondi - it couldn’t happen to a more deserving person except maybe Hegseth, Patel, Noem & any of the other inept, unqualified regime.
