Closer and closer to ditching FB. I no longer comment on public pages because of the Bots. My personal posts are friends only. And only friends of friends have the option to request friendship. Those things alone cut down on unwanted engagement. And do not feed the trolls is my motto.

But so many friends are not engaging at all. You can see they are checking on, or mindless scrolling though.

I spend way more time on Substack now, and reposting many articles to my friends on FB. But the current political climate has worn most down. Only a few ever acknowledge reading the articles.

It’s as if they are either afraid to leave a footprint of their agreement, or disagreement. Or they doubt all news sources now.

I stick with the Zookerverse for two reasons. First there are a few of pages in there that draw communities of people who think, and are sometimes "imprisoned" for criticizing Товарищ Цукерберг (Comrade Zuckerberg). Second is that It is important to gather intelligence on the MAGAsphere.

(The places I frequent are fan pages of counter culture icons like Kurt Vonnegut, Frank Zappa, George Carlin, and a lesser know radio skit comedy troupe called The Firesign Theater.)

This is the comment I made to CTTE regarding the intelligence value.

"I do not feel personally harmed, though am very concerned about the harm being done to society by the increasingly divisive content of the Zookerverse.

There is one particular scammer that I believe is a Russian Troll Farm. They are identified by links to "True Facts about Porsche" (Sometimes BMW) These posts, under multiple accounts, push hot buttons across the entire political spectrum. I believe the goal is to get Americans fighting amongst themselves in order to distract from the destruction of the country by Агент Краснов."

I feel the same way. It also a good way to clean up your “friends” whom you haven’t interacted for in a while (high school, college, past jobs). Most recently, this one person tried to engage me into debate about current administration, and not just on the wall, but in messenger too. The last person I expected to be so maga tolerant. Makes you wonder what is truly hidden behind the mask.

Many of my high school classmates no longer speak to me because of my criticism of their King, Krasnov. In some the feelings are downright hostile, a trademark of MAGA.

Two examples of bots and harmful content in general under the guise of free speech...

On a post about a death in the family, we received two comments linking to fake obituary notices. My mil alerted others commenting on the post to not click the links because the notices were phishing. I reported each to meta and within 3 days they sent me a message saying they did not remove the comments. I reported again explaining meta didn’t correctly identify the posts as spam/phishing and they replied within 24 hours with the same message that the posts did not go against community standards. These two commenters were most likely bots that meta decided to ignore.

Another example, I reported a post spreading false information — it was an interview with Musk saying droves of undocumented migrants were voting illegally in US elections, which is untrue/unsubstantiated. Meta never responded to my complaint and they did not remove the post.

One of the main reasons I’m still on Facebook is for established groups that either share helpful information or connect me with my community. It would be great if that wasn’t coupled with all the spammy nonsense.

I have found many scammers on FB. Both in the scroll and in Marketplace where I nearly paid for a piece of rare furniture ahead of seeing it but went with my gut and said I have to see it first. The guy got really angry afterward. I googled a photo of the item and it was actually from a listing in another state. He had just stolen the photo and lowered the price a little to get interested people who want a good deal and to then rip them off.

The only reason I am still on FB is for the groups. I learn a lot from some that I am on but I also see a lot of negativity in some of the groups. That part really bums me out.

Additionally, I barely see anything from my “friends”. Only a few that I don’t ever interact with. It’s 90% advertisements.

I rarely post on my page but in the last couple months have been because politics are out of control and I am desperate for my maga family and friends to maybe see the posts and read them.

Now I’m worried I could be the next “kidnapped and taken to god knows where” even though I am an American citizen, because of my extreme disapproval of the regime.

It’s frightening living this nightmare.

Many women named Karen would like nothing more than to sue them over the constant bullying, and misuse of their name/identity that was driven entirely by their love of monetized click baiting. It has caused actual harm to those women, teens and girls.

I deleted my account last month. I was upset that I was seeing more and more right wing crap on my feed when I follow none of that. I was sent several fact-check messages saying things I posted contained inaccurate information. These were things I didn’t post and it was after they claimed they weren’t fact checking. I miss my groups from facebook but I couldn’t stomach staying on. One group was a COPD support group as we have none in our area and several were art or book groups.

I don't understand why photos of private parts are being posted. I miss life before 2016 it wasn't perfect but everything is getting out of control.

All the tech billionaires need to be taken down a notch. Don't forget Facebook was responsible for allowing election misinformation to spread and does nothing to control the bots. It's not quite as bad as Twitter, but it's still bad

Going through a scam currently. I ordered a product that was advertised on Facebook. I received 1 package that had a wadded plastic bag inside. I spent just over $94 on the items.

Just received another package that has another plastic bag inside it. I haven’t opened it up yet because I am going to the post office to open it there. I am going to try to see what I can do about mail fraud since they are sending fake product in replace of what I ordered.

I am going through a scam right now where I looked at products on an ad via a Facebook for formal gowns. Next thing I know I receive a notice from my bank for insufficient funds in my account. I immediately notify my bank. Learned that $3600 was taken from to my debit card for 3 formal dresses I never purchased. 2 of the 3 dresses shipped to my home . I immediately closed my account at bank. Initially the seller worked with me to return the items but now has completely ghosted me for a refund. The thing about this is that I did not nor would I ever order dresses in that amount via my debit card and let alone via a ad. I don’t know how my banking information was used. I issued a complaint via Facebook but they have also ghosted me. I have filed a claim with my bank. I’m sick over this.

Facebook /meta CENSORSHIP on political pages is rife - they are deleting posts, unfollowing, suspending accounts, changing links to soft topics, imposing timeouts for posting multiple copies, restricting accounts, ghosting posts and accounts, blocking group posts, commenting and sharing, delaying notifications to delay conversations particularly internationally

Diversify onto other platforms for when it goes down or becomes too restrictive

There is a whole new story here about Zuckerberg intentionally controlling speech ‼️‼️‼️

Yes I have been screenshotting evidence-I have three accounts to stay active - my first is unable to join political groups

They appear to let you repost something but when I go look for it, it is not there.

Also, a biggie, Heather Cox Richardson, a very well known author and historian, is now having her daily post eliminated. She does a daily newsletter on our current situation.

Someone is impersonating me on Facebook right now. They are asking my friends for money, saying it was me. It's embarrassing and humiliating. I've tried to get help from Facebook, but without results. I was given a warning before they took over my account. They told me someone was trying to log in, I said it wasn't me, and they said they were stopped. But, apparently not good enough. This really has caused me mental distress.

My elderly father was scammed out of thousands of dollars. It was his whole life’s savings at the time. My dad is a veteran and lives on disability so his savings wasn’t huge, but it was enough. And it was his. He and I would happily share his story. Feel free to email me if you’d like to hear our story. My email should be in my profile or you can search my name on facebook. Thank you for finally standing up and fighting to do something about this!!!! ❤️
