Love the Burroughs reference! Brilliant piece and so enjoyable! Thanks ever so much from an exhausted Minnesotan. ❤️‍🩹

Although I love Rook's reporting, I questioned how sustainable his schedule was. Sometimes we know when we need a break and sometimes our body demands we rest. Take care of yourself Rook. DJT isn't worth losing your mind over.

OR your physical health. take it from one who is struggling as well.

I sure love and appreciate your writing. I also appreciate the efforts you make to bear witness to this crazy (and vindictively cruel) timeline. I was at a yoga class and the instructor always closes off with a gratitude practice and talks about how to treat others. I noted in my own thoughts how far most of the maGA tribe has drifted from such worthwhile aspirations. The other day I made a list of what I call the GOG (or gang of ghouls) to itemize all of the players that make up this cruel clown car. It’s staggering when you lay it out in front of yourself. Anyway thanks but do exercise self-care!

Gonzo journos likely not big yoga fans. The teacher sounds “nice” in the gonzo sense of the word. Just sayin

The gonzo journalist's brain cells die for our sins and I am eternally grateful for the sacrifice and dedication. Onward.

Caring is definitely the answer ❤️

Hmm. Symptoms sound remarkably familiar. Particularly the “chronic moral abrasion” and “exhaustion”. But not the intermittent part. Could it be a contagious viral infection that’s rapidly spreading? Let’s hope so, because IMO, there’s simply no such thing as caring too much.

(And the DDS is a bit odd and potentially disturbing. Or hilarious, depending on how it’s expressed. Please keep us updated if you’re DDS symptoms increase…)

In any case, I’m sure there are many of us who are experiencing similar duress and symptoms. So stay the course, hug everyone around you. And BREATHE!!!

Take a mental health break and do not feel guilty about it! Thanks for what you do.
