Yeah, the Old Testament prophets would've had a field day calling down lightning bolts on these grifters, con-artists and hypocrites masquerading as men of god---much less Christians. Which book of the bible has the verses telling people to snatch food from the mouths of hungry children and medicine from the sick? Which one blesses the rich and powerful for keeping their knees on the necks of the poor? At least the evangelicals have found their true messiah, Orange Jesus.

Top notch analysis.

Enough scholarship to give it some weight, mixed with recent events to make it current. The title alone’Holy Hype Squad’ signals a call to action.

As someone who considers myself to be deeply spiritual, but not the slightest bit religious, I have no trouble despising obvious religious charlatans - and hoping they burn for all eternity in the hell I don't believe in, consumed in an ever-lasting fire fueled by the money they swindled from sincere, if naive, believers...

There is no such thing as 'god'. The sooner humans stop believing in this bullshit, the happier this world will be.

These sleazy "religious" con-men and their designated golden calf, Trump, are identical.

They feed off their frightened, ignorant followers/believers like ticks off a dog...

They're practicing the oldest con-game in the history of the world--one used by every snake-oil salesman, fake preacher, orthodox religious patriarch and political dictator in history:

First, identify and name--in the simplest possible terms-- the universal shared worries and doubts of the great mass of people surrounding you. THEN--after inventing a God and a Devil, (the Good Cop/Bad Cop of the Divine Precinct House of Heaven and Hell), tell them that every bad thing that ever happened to them, that's happening to them now, and that ever will happen to them is:

a) THEIR fault for not following "the word of god" (which they manufactured out of their own crazy guilt and for their own profit), THEN,

b) Find some group of people who are "different" in some way; tell these believing flock of sheep that these "different" people are the tools of the devil and have to be persecuted, tortured, killed and driven from their midst. The "good work" never stops--there's always more "sin" to be eliminated, more "sinners" to save; and incidentally, more of their money to give to these predatory holy men and women...

There you have Trump and all the other wholly sacks of bullshit that ever were and ever will be--world without end, Amen!
