I'm an Australian whos been watching closely from afar as this slow moving shit storm unfolds in America.
Robert Reich has been absolutely indispensable as a source of clear, easy to understand information about American history, politics, the labour movement, capitalism and most of all, about democracy and how it is won and lost.
I also talk to people I know about all this bc at any time fascism could come to us - we just had an election in which we could have elected a wannabe dictator, but instead supported the alternative with a majority which will make a conservative ruling party in Australia highly unlikely til 2031.
One of the first resources I point others to is Robert Reich. I love that he starts from scratch, explaining every subject from the ground up, is never critical of the conservative voters - always lays the blame where it should be, with the big businesses, courts, million/billionaires, bigots/racists/fascist nationalists and politicians who are trying to manipulate, control and profit from the weaknesses in the political and monetary systems, both in America and worldwide - and encourages everyone to seek empowerment and freedom through education and determined, considered action.
What a giant of a man, and no I'm not being funny. Trump and his cronies can wear all the lifts they want, they'll never be as impressive as Robert Reich - a little, quietly spoken teacher with a heart so big it can be heard and followed from the other side of the world.
Don't wait til he's gone to appreciate him, folks. You've got enough tragedy going on already
