DJT on full display at the UN today - A deranged, narcissistic madman’s condensed version in “how to win friends and influence people”. All he needed was a chainsaw, a blowtorch and a few canisters of teargas.

as a European, it seems to me as if I'm watching the demise of the once great nation, the US, in cinemascope. Why not everyone walked out of the plenary session during his speech is beyond me.

I'm living in the circus of clowns, and I can't keep up with with each new happening. It would destroy my life to do that, and I won't give up my joy or health to this era. I persist to outlive this era, and I plan to make the t-shirt to prove it. Survival merch will have quite a market when this is over. I'm guessing that all those people discovering they were duped will want to buy t-shirts that say "Trump who? We barely knew him."

With all that said, I can't imagine how unhinged this country looks from the outside. We can barely manage to view it from the inside, but I am grateful for the people who can give us some perspective from out there.

And why didn't they turn off the microphone when his time was up? And usher him off the stage! He didn't deserve the courtesy of being able to continue to speak.

You are absolutely right…the US houses a number of citizens who believe thugs, Miller, Hegseth,Trump, and their tough guy talk can make America strong. You saw it today. With Trump in the WH the US is flailing.

I wish EVERYONE would have just walked out on his speech. Maybe, just maybe, one of his handlers would get a clue that the jig is up. It still amazes me everyday how this buffoon is the US President and his whole family supports him. Jeez. Now that's a con family.

Don't forget about his niece, though, Mary L Trump. She hates him with the passion of a million suns. She speaks out against him almost on a daily basis. She has a substack if you'd like to check it out

I have to believe the Orange Gasbag's entourage, cultists, lemmings are very aware of his bloated, discolored, stroke-riddled, old-people's skin appearance. Is no one brave enough to send an anonymous letter suggesting DT look in a mirror? Just wondering.

It wouldn't surprise me even a little if Trump hasn't actually tried to nuke a hurricane. Him and his insane billionaire scientists are no doubt trying to control the weather. Once upon a time, I would be considered bat shit crazy for suggesting (man made weather), but, these technobillionaires are definitely crazier than I am.

As a former UN staffer who worked high-level week for 10 years, I feel the need to weigh in to yesterday’s spectacle.

I don’t need to repeat that his speech was completely unhinged. But it’s a great insight into his personality that he would rant at length to a roomful of global leaders, that they might find it interesting. What I think less people realize is that such a display impacts the seriousness with which every country delegation will take the United States for the next year at least.

Usually speeches in the UN are highly nuanced, with everyone hanging on for the slightest change in wording. He was more than just a bull in a china shop; he was a meteor from outer space causing the extinction of the dinosaurs.

On a policy level, everyone has realized there is no coherence in the US position and that everything depends on the irrational whim of our current president. This is highly destabilizing globally, but also for the US’ ability to achieve any meaningful work in the UN realm—not that they have great policy goals in an institution they have defunded.

The blowback from these few months of Trump’s presidency will take us decades to recover from. More than 200 years of forward progress of being an example of democracy and hope, has been irreparably damaged.

This is not to say that it cannot be clawed back with concerted effort and creativity. This is I’m sure what a non-Trump-aligned administration will attempt to do when it is next in office, be it Republican or Democrat.

But our superpower status is no longer ours. The reputation of being a giant, pioneering, melting pot of opportunity and stability, is gone. Yesterday sealed it.

Our best course of action is to continue pushing back at every opportunity, and reinforcing international links at the state and local level. That will be the basis for renewing our global status post-Trump.

The JIHAD is there for all to see, out in the open, so that we know such vile zealotry must be DESTROYED.

“Buckle the fuck up”! Priceless. And humiliating for our country on the World Stage. I realize that many of his supporters agree with his drivel. I do not and I am certain I am not in the minority in feeling that we need to rid ourselves of this orange blob and get back to normalcy. Spoiler alert, though: It’s going to take a decade to turn this around and many of us will not be here to feel, see and hear the change.
