You’re right, Denise “home-grown terrorism” really captures the heart of what’s so unsettling about all of this. It’s not just random or distant; it’s something brewing right here, fed by the kind of hate and misinformation that too often gets brushed off or excused. What struck me most from the post was how clearly it laid out the pattern, how it’s not just one-off incidents, but a consistent thread of radicalization and violence. And it’s scary to think how many people still deny it or look the other way.
I really appreciate that you responded with such a powerful truth in just a few words. I’d actually love to hear your thoughts more, how do you usually cope with seeing this stuff happen so often? Does it ever feel like change is even possible?
Change is always possible but it can take some time.
There are groups that thrive on resentment and hate. Maybe if they were involved in some positive community interaction or activity, that hate might dissipate. Perhaps I’m just being too idealistic.
I’m not sure how one copes with all the horrible things that are happening: rogue state Israel; Putin’s Russia; Sudan, Congo, Pakistan and India. It feels like the world is in a frenzy of violence and chaos right at the time when we should all be pulling together to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and enable our planet to recover.
There is plenty of positive stuff though, right at the local level, if you look around. The smallest things. Acts of kindness. Willingness to help. I’ve found just by smiling at someone it helps because they mostly smile back.
Thank you so much for this, Denise. There’s a quiet kind of wisdom in what you shared, especially about the small, everyday kindnesses. It’s comforting to hear that kind of perspective in the middle of so much chaos. You’re right, even a simple smile can go further than we realize. And honestly, I don’t think you’re being too idealistic at all. If anything, I think that kind of vision is what keeps some of us grounded. The way you tied in global issues with personal hope really stuck with me, it feels rare to see that kind of reflection in these spaces. I'm new here and still feeling my way around, but I’ve really appreciated coming across this conversation. I would love to keep chatting if you're up for it, always good to connect with thoughtful voices like yours.
This is the source of tRump's power over the spineless Republicans in Congress...they don't want the crazed henchmen coming after them and their families. He set it up this way, thug style, and it worked.
It's certain he carried out his heinous assignment knowing his president has a pardon with his name on it. (I realize drumpf has no jurisdiction over the state charging him but that's not the point. These maniacs know drumpf has their collective back)
Violence is and always has been the province of those with really bad communication skills. Most of the conversations I’ve had (limited, I assure you) with MAGAts consist of vague and mostly nonsensical claims of ‘they/them doing some unspecified harm to we/us’ even going so far back as to claim that President Obama stole all the gold from Fort Knox to distribute to the (slur) black folks. It’s tiresome, infuriating and maddening and it seems bottomless. They just never run out of grievance. Remember’17 & ‘18? They had the trifecta then too but they were constantly angry and aggrieved. I’ve come to the inescapable conclusion that is their natural state. Since the world refuses to reward their mediocrity with riches and power they will take it. It has to stop
Very profound… sad, but true. As soon as I heard it, I knew it my heart it was maggots
This is exactly how it is. How they’ve made it. They being maga
The felon in chief inspired this mouth breather!
1,000% . They are emboldened knowing drumpf will pardon them
Excellent article and analysis. Well said and necessary. Thanks.
I knew this right from the start, you’d have to be a door knob to not.
Home-grown terrorism.

You’re welcome. Take care.
Thank you, Denise. Hope you don't mind following back so I can get notified and also share my opinions sometimes.
I’m struggling with how to challenge this continuous drip of hate without adopting the MAGA tactics
Clear. Beyond tragic that your summary is indeed on point.
No drag queens, no trans. Always radicalised white MAGA men
I just saw a post that said he was apprehended this evening. Anyone else see this?
I read on The Hill that he was in custody, not much in the way of details. Unfortunately, he didn’t choose suicide by cop.

So well said
Just perfect
Thank you for all of this
Please send your post to all Republicans so they know that everyone knows that the violence was perpetrated by Trump and ignored by them.
Tario trash should be charged.
Well said!
White Nationalism is a global terrorist threat! It’s been on the rise for decades! It’s a hateful ideology that breeds violence!
Extreme wealth funds these haters and their militias to keep people on edge!
Trump and Putin are both White Nationalists! It’s neofascism
Trump incites these thugs to violence intentionally to instill fear into the protestors!
Don’t cower before tyranny!
