When I 1st read about this, of course, naively thought wow raised a unique pair and how amazing....After reading this, the penny has not only dropped, but opened the mind to the very disturbing reality where this kind of 'meddling' goes....The thought of Monsters like: Trump Netanyahu Putin Kim Yun being 'recycled' is wholly disturbing, as that's what the ultimate end game is keeping the Genetic Pool of Mega Wealthy and Psychotic Leaders going, creating an endless cycle of WHAT IS HAPPENING NOW...a true groundhog day living...How scary is that....
Pretty durn scary!-- As another commenter pointed out, it sounds very much like Jurassic Park and it's several box office clones--Though since this is "real" and not a Hollywood creation, the bad guys won't get destroyed and eaten at the end-- Now I can choose between being constantly anxious about Trump declaring a national emergency and militarizing the whole country-- Or, the prospect of thousands of weaponized lycans, programmed to kill Radical Leftists and controlled from the attic of the White House by Laura Loomer...
De-extincting species is an incredibly risky enterprise for all parties: the species, the ecosystem, the threat of genetic transfer and on and on. This is a biotechnology we should think very carefully about before going any further with this.

I miss back when the idea of them reopening Jurassic park over and over despite it always ending in catastrophic bloody disaster seemed ridiculous.
