After seeing Ruth Bader Ginsburg’s life story on stage last weekend, “All Things Equal”, I will show up with even more resolve to say ‘I Dissent’ as she so bravely did when people’s rights were being trampled. Democracy dies in silence. Please show up!
2026 marks 40 years since the PEOPLE POWER REVOLUTION toppled the Marcos regime sending them into exile. Why this isn't discussed more I don't understand. Yes, I'm old and remember when 3 days of millions of people took to the streets for self-determination but there are OTHER old people who should be talking about how people IN THE STREETS can make for real change .
I really like this breakdown. We only keep our civil rights by exercising them. I
think these big protests are a chance to practice Tim Snyder’s rules # 1, 4, 8, 10, 12, 13, 18, 19, and 20. (At least.) They confirm people’s feelings that things are not normal or acceptable, and they aren’t the only ones who feel that way.
Purity is always the problem with the left, especially the centrist ones, but they refuse to learn that lesson, it’s why we are here. That and the folks that think not voting is some sort of a protest. History proves it time and time again. And now they think that perfect protest is the only one or it’s a waste of time, which guarantees the reduced the impact. Thanks guys.

It’s worse now because the kings are the billionaires and they are worldwide.
At this point only a fool would rely on the American criminal justice industry to do the right thing. They allow this to happen. Those gangsters have allowed billionaires to remain above the law and this isn’t a new thing this was going on along before the orange menace even slithered out of his mother‘s asshole. It’s just a whole lot worse now than it has ever been.
We get told bullshit that protesting actually solves things. It doesn’t. The reason the voting act was passed in the 60s and the civil rights act got passed was because the filthy Rich at the time were worried that organizations like the Black Panthers would show up at their mansions and burn them out.

I would have preferred she also said "I retire" so Obama could have appointed a non MAGA justice
