A couple of times in our history, there was a cataclysm was required to clear the system of some awful political and cultural infection. Our democracy survived then and I can only hope it will survive now... Our Constitution, and it's amendments, are very clear on what a real democracy should/could be--It's a blueprint for how a government of the people functions. BUT--the Constitution is only a blueprint and the house (our government) that gets built from it has to be re-constructed every once in a while; all the rats and ghosts and cobwebs and cracked walls and warped floors have to be cleaned up and fixed--sometimes replaced entirely before its fit for people to live in...
Trump is, like a vampire, accumulating more power with every life he sucks the blood from--he can't help it. He will certainly take the life of our democracy if we don't confront him and his assorted goblins head on. What form that confrontation will take, I don't know, but it will require some heroes. Why do we elect "representatives?" What are they for if not to "represent" the people. If they're not for that, they represent nothing by their own passivity and individual greed.
Congress people come hoping to achieve then find half their time is spent fundraising and the other half talking to lobbyists, so it doesn’t take long. And to another point, Trump is a vampire. If you look closely he even kind of looks like one, but in my book more lizardy - think it’s his eyes. At any rate, please join the resistance in any way you can! Have you done any investigation into these protests being sponsored by the CIA? This is likely, and is a way to set the table for an attack by Israel/US on Iran for regime change in order to control Iranian oil. This is the “color revolution” playbook of the CIA in so many countries that you are remiss in not exploring it for Iran.
The "semantic gymnastics" point really nails it. Labeling people 'rioters' versus 'protesters' is not just language, its the on-off switch for state violence. I've seen similar patterns play out where once a government redefines dissenters as enemies, the dialogue window closes. That line about burning legitimacy for control is spot on tho, at some point there's nothing left but force.
