Everyone should read Lisa Graves' new book about corruption on the Supreme Court. “A devastating, passionate takedown of Chief Justice John Roberts’s Supreme Court by a Washington insider.” —Jane Mayer, author of Dark Money
In the last twenty years the US Supreme Court has radically curtailed voting rights, undermined anti-corruption measures, encouraged extreme political gerrymandering, restricted the regulation of guns, and obliterated the constitutional right to control one’s reproductive choices. This transformation was orchestrated by a billionaire-backed reactionary political movement, whose interests Chief Justice John Roberts has been all too willing to serve.
Without Precedent explodes the falsehood that Roberts is a fair-minded institutionalist who works to blunt the worst impulses of other Republican appointees to the court when, in fact, he has led the rightward transformation of the court’s jurisprudence while presiding over the most corrupt and corrupted Supreme Court in American history.
They see it. They do not act on it because he's got something on them, or they paid somehow for their position, or they just plain don't give a d**n. There are "shady" things going on in this administration...between and among lots of people!
After the Judiciary Committee failed to show that the two cases are evidence of a weaponised justice system and instead made very clear that there were substantial and serious cases to be answered, it will be interesting to see what action, if any, is taken as a follow up.
I have never had any doubts about Trump’s inherent lack of fitness for public office and Jack Smith’s testimony only confirms it. The biggest problem we face is that the indictments, the case and the evidence that Smith prepared for it WERE NEVER ACTUALLY BROUGHT IN A COURT OF LAW‼️ The minute Trump was elected the case was aborted. How’s that for judicial impartiality⁉️🤦🏻♂️🙄 Had he been able to complete the process in front of a judge and jury, there is no doubt that justice would have prevailed but we will never know now what the outcome would have looked like because the case was quashed. 🤬🤷🏻♂️ Very disappointing
Found the questions about the Robert Jackson’s speech interesting - seems as though Smith prosecuted by those rules - the current DOJ under Trump’s thumb not so much - and the fact the transcript of Jackson’s speech is on the DOJ website 🤭https://www.justice.gov/sites/default/files/ag/legacy/2011/09/16/04-01-1940.pdf
I have to admit that I fell in love with Jack Smith during that horrendous debacle! He is focused, thorough, precise intelligent and was the most experienced special counsel to complete the task at hand.
It is interesting that one can ask, why are these laws not being enforced? And of course the answer is that the enforcement of laws is the function of the Executive Branch.
Regardless of how anyone feels about what Jabba has done to us this time around, Jack Smith’s testimony clearly displays why this time around should never have been allowed to happen, and must be terminated.
Correct, and succinct. Brilliant.

And Citizens United, which has had a dramatic, potentially fatal, impact on the entire “free and fair” election process.
NO COMMENT..!!
“Nothing happens without Trump.” Why is that the everyday person can see this clearly, but those with the clout cannot.

My husband has been saying this since the beginning. Thanks for the clear explanation.

I am about halfway through watching his testimony on YouTube.
STELLAR!
I have to admit that I fell in love with Jack Smith during that horrendous debacle! He is focused, thorough, precise intelligent and was the most experienced special counsel to complete the task at hand.
Excellent summary.
Jack Smith’s experience is extensive and solid, and his reputation is exceptional.
Thank you for speaking the truth.

Love your posts but please do spell check?
"Section 3 of the Fourteenth Amendment does not require a criminal convictin."
Were you unable to comprehend the meaning? Are you not fluent in typonese?
We appreciate you letting us know. We will fix now.
Wow!
I am just sick that this is our country. How anyone could have voted for this person after Jan 6 is infuriating.
Regardless of how anyone feels about what Jabba has done to us this time around, Jack Smith’s testimony clearly displays why this time around should never have been allowed to happen, and must be terminated.
I liked Jack Smith's straightforward manner. Without DJT, the riot and insurrection on January 6 would not have happened.
